Russian tourists capture some video footage of the
2004 Andaman-Sumatra Tsunami hitting
Karon Beach, Phuket, Thailand. This footage is new to me having somehow escaped my attention. It shows a more mild version of the tsunami hitting a stretch of the coastline that due to various factors was spared larger run-ups than occurred elsewhere along Karon Beach. However, by the end of the video the situation is getting more grave.

It never ceases to amaze me that people just stand there and gawk when water along a shoreline recedes suddenly. Let it be shown that evolution is still working in some pockets of humanity.
