Sunday Morning Scenes At Monterey Breakwater

This morning before the show began anew we headed down to the Monterey breakwater at Breakwater Cove for a break from the show and a change of pace. What we found and experienced there exceeded expectations and some elements of the visit approached being "magical". The Monterey Bay is home to kelp forests more abundant in variety of life than tropical rainforests. This cove is a tiny access point to this great underwater world and in the small space and time frame we visited this access point we saw a surprising amount of life. Below are some images I captured of what we saw.

Breakwater Cove view looking westward toward Cannery Row.

A California Sea Lion sunbathing in the morning sunlight along the breakwater.

School of fish. Can anybody tell me what type they just from looking at this image?

Two jellyfish

Sea gull

A diving class was underway in Breakwater Cove during our visit.
