September In January In SoCal

This was the scene in Glendora, CA, this morning as the Colby Fire raged in the foothills above town. This area has consumed over 1,700 acres and at least two homes. This area has not burned since 1968.

This image of the Colby Fire earlier this morning is not a SoCal scene that is typical for mid-January. The flames fronts look somewhat like lava flows. Thanks goes to Kyle Rusk for use of these images he captured.
