| This graphic was released a short time ago by the NWS San Francisco/Monterey and shows the nearly 12,000 lightning strikes that struck the region (mostly offshore over the past several hours). California is already on the front end of an August Fire Siege and the lightning that did strike over land on this graphic and off of it will undoubtedly start more wildfires.
