Rock Photography Set XI

This passed weekend I had the privilege of helping my friend Dave Richter in his Rocks & Relics booth at the final Gem Faire of the year at Santa Barbara, CA. Despite Dave's credit card machine battery going south the show nonetheless rocked and rolled and was a resounding success. I was there to help set up on Thursday, worked Friday, was off Saturday while Dave broke in new help and then I worked again on Sunday and helped break down the booth at the end of the day. Below is a collection of images I took during the Sunday morning quietude.

Polished botryoidal malachite from Katanga Province, Congo, atop a polished Brazilian Agate slab.
Quartz crystal from Coleman Mine, Mt. Ida, Arkansas.
Seven-inch long Shiva lingam or as I prefer to refer to them: an Indiana Jones stone!
Stilbite on green Apophyllite from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India.
Brown Agate from Madagascar.
Genuine Moonstone cabachons (much Moonstone on the market is not genuine) from India.
Polished Smoky Quartz point from Minas Gerais, Brazil with Arkansas Quartz and Congolese Malachite and Quartz stalactites from Maharashtra, India.
Agatized Turitella from Southern Morocco near the Mali border.
Polished Moroccan Septarian Nodule halves.
Polished cut Tampa Bay Agatized Coral (Brain Coral) pairs.
Quartz stalactites with chalcedony cores from Maharashtra, India.
Circa 15,000 year-old Russian Cave Bear skeletal front paws with Green River Formation Fish Fossils and cut and polished Madagascar Ammonite pairs.
Gemstone bead strand hanks including primarily Tourmaline along with Emerald and Tanzanite.
Agatized Pectins from Southern Morocco near the Mali border.
Quartz crystal clusters from Coleman Mine, Mt. Ida, Arkansas.
Polished Agatized Coral from Tampa Bay, Florida, region.
Chinese-carved Australian Chrysoprase Koala carving.
Herkimer Diamonds from Herkimer, New York. Nearly all of both flats we brought to the show were purchased by one customer on Friday morning.
Ammonites from Madagascar. Note: this is not Ammolite but simply Nacre otherwise known as mother of pearl.
Polished Brain Malachite (botryoidal) with one specimen of Fibrous Malachite all from Katanga Province, Congo.
What is left of the flat of Madagascar included Quartz featured on Picture of the Day last Saturday.
