My Top 20 TV & Movie Crushes

What follows is my list of most notable crushes on women from the small screen (television) and big screen (cinema) in rough chronological order of the advent of said crush and accompanied by the work in which I became besotted with them and the name of the character they played in said work.

Note: Originally this was a Top Ten that was actually a bit more than that. Additional updates have occurred so it is now top fifteen twenty list with the caveat that some on the list are still an ongoing "thing" for me. Amongst the ongoing are #17 which is the case for most men in North America who have happened to even watch a modicum of GoT over the course of the past four years.

Additional Note: The Kate Beckinsale as Selene (pictured above) thing is also still ongoing and always will... that forever ended my aversion to women in boots as well as my aversion to the Goth Girl look.

Final Note: Updated April 10, 2017

Underworld: Awakening

One of my favorite movie franchises is the Underworld series of movies featuring Kate Beckinsale as my favorite vampire Selene. Opening in ten days is fourth movie in the quadrilogy, the third in which Beckinsale appears. I liked the first two movies quite much, never watched the third one which was a prequel and did not feature Beckinsale. I am hopeful with trepidation they don't dumb down this fourth one as I fear given the poor track record of fourth movies in a movie franchises. I plan to go see it in a theater, a rarity for me, as I usually do not go to movies but wait for them to appear on DVD and watch them at home. I shall report back on my impression of the new movie upon viewing it later this month. Below in order are trailers one and two for this movie.

My Favorite Vampire Movie Music Tracks

I have always enjoyed vampire movies going back to when I was a child and ever since then; certainly well before vampires became all the rage in the popular culture with the Twilight franchise, et al. Today I wish to share with you in the context of this passion of mine some of the more beautiful and stirring and moving and powerful music pieces that have come out in recent years.

This piece entitled "After" by artist Wide Open Cage was used in the first scene at The Admiral's Arms vampire club in the movie "Queen of the Damned", in particular when you see the young vampire couples dancing on a stage to the house music.

This piece is entitled "Confusion" (Pump Panel Reconstruction Remix) by New Order . This plays near the beginning of the movie "Blade" in the sequence in the meat packing factory turned underground vampire club where vampires groove and grind on the dance floor climaxing with a literal blood shower... and a visit by Blade.

"Eternity and a Day" by Paul Haslinger is the gorgeous musical piece used throughout various parts of the first two Underworld movies that is essentially the score for the movie. I have not watched the third movie in the franchise as Kate Beckinsale is not in it so what's the point in watching it?

This is a hot remix of Paul Haslinger's "Eternity and a Day" as created by the electronica artist SineSkeller. I would so love to see this used in a vampire club scene with the main character of that movie franchise, Selene, dancing solo or with a new vampire love interest... I'm tired of the character of Michael with whom her character is currently involved.

This electronica piece entitled "Starfire" by Alexander Perls seems perfectly suited to either play in an actual vampire movie or at least be on the soundtrack to such and play during the end credits... perhaps used in the segue from the final scene into those end credits.
