This morning a wildfire started in atypically dry grass along south side (east-bound side) of
Highway 101 and driven by out-of-season
Santa Ana Winds was driven to the sea in a fashion more typical of October-November, NOT early May. This story is rapidly evolving and any statistics I share here will ultimately be obsolete but as of this posting the Springs Fire burning through the very western end of the
Santa Monica Mountains is sized at 10,000 acres with only 10% containment.
