Chimney Fire - Day Two

Yesterday, Day Two of the Chimney Fire west of Lake Nacimiento, I was down south in Santa Barbara County, rockhounding with friends and missed the blow-up of this fire around 2 p.m. in the afternoon. However, I could see the header from all the way down on the crest of the ridge on Jalama Road on the drive back home. We stopped in Santa Maria to visit an acquaintance and could hear the DC-10 VLAT and a couple of Bae-146's landing and taking off at Santa Maria Air Attack Base.
