Earlier today at about 2 p.m. the
Chimney Fire experienced a wind shift and exploded across the open country southwest and adjacent to
Lake Nacimiento. Below are three images of the resulting
pyrocumulus cloud that was generated over the convection column. In the fire business they refer to it as "capping out."
