Picture of the Day - Brown Tide

This image was taken from Highway 1 while riding southbound towards Bodega Bay, CA. It was taken near Goat Rock Beach just south of Jenner, CA. I took this image back in Winter 2001 while on a trip to Northern California. The brown region seen in the ocean here is where a surge of flood waters coming down the Russian River had just emerged into Pacific Ocean and had not yet mixed with the ocean water.
