 - gendered ~ Of or pertaining or dominated by traditional gender norms.
 - hegemony ~ Control by means of indirect control and implied threat.
 - hermeneutics ~ The study of the interpretation of texts.
 - historiography ~ What others have written about history.
 - homosocial ~ non-sexual same-sex relationship.
 - metropole ~ The imperial center as referenced in postcolonial studies.
 - normative ~ What is considered normal or has become normalized.
 - ontology ~ The study of the nature of being.
 - other ~ A non-conforming group.
 - patriarchy ~ A male-dominated social system.
 - philology ~ The study of the written word.
 - reification ~ Giving something physical form.
 - semiotics ~ The study of meaning.
 - space ~ In a Kantian sense of the word to suggest that space is subjective and artificial.

 - tautology ~ Something perceived as truth by means of its being oft repeated.
