Picture of the Day - Dragonfly Encounter

A short time ago I was in my kitchen and something outside my window grabbed my attention. There was a large dragonfly hugging the end of my Volvo's radio antenna. The creature continued to maintain that position long enough for me to get out my camera, switch to my telephoto lens, and snap several images through my somewhat dirty kitchen window. Picture of the Day - The Bees

While out walking my dog Tequila in my neighborhood on Oak Street in Paso Robles a short while ago a man warned me of a swarm of bees in his driveway. Quite apparently this resulted from a destroyed beehive attached to a just-fallen branch from a large oak tree growing in front of his house. The bees left me alone and allowed me to capture this image of the man's driveway. From this I conclude they were not "Africanized".  Photo by Kim Patrick Noyes (all rights reserved).
